“Dyslexics: You have an advantage. You are special. Your brain works differently”. -Liz Miele
Dyslexia Is Our Superpower is a podcast where I interview fellow dysleixans. These are people from every walk of life who have faced dyslexia and made it out the other side. Their stories are empowering and show us that even if it doesn’t seem like it, life does get better and there is absolutely a place for each of us in this world where we will shine and contribute. Each person’s story is unique and shows us that there are so many ways to succeed as a person with dyslexia.
Along with his personal story, Mads shares the tale of his short film, I am Dyslexic and how he created it to support and empower fellow dyslexics.
“Love your brain. You’ve been given a gift. It’s easy for us to think it’s a curse because there are so many things that ‘normal brain’ people can do that we can’t, but there’s way more things we can do.” -Christopher Lochhead
As well as telling us about the events leading up to finding her current job Krista talks about the short film, Partially Compensated that she created to depict her childhood struggles in school.
With raw emotion Dr. Bartlett reveals the ups and downs of her journey, showing us what is possible when you advocate for yourself and don’t take no for an answer.
Note from Dr. Bartlett: Dyslexic Moment! I said the area code of my phone number wrong. It’s 941 NOT 914! So the entire number is 941-237-0946 and email is email@example.com Thanks!
